Alexander bowls South Africa A to big win

Craig Alexander took career best innings and match figures to bowl South Africa A to victory by 272 runs over Bangladesh A with a day to spare in their first unofficial test at Senwes Park on Saturday.
The young bizhub Highveld Lions fast bowler followed his figures of 3/18 in the first innings with a return of 5/36 in the second to give him a match return of 8/54 in only 16 overs.
The visitors could not come to grips with the South African pace attack in either innings and only batted for a total of 88 overs in the match.
Having made 156 in their first innings they did only slightly better second time around to be dismissed for 185. The one bright spot was the defiant innings of Nadif Chowdhury who made an unbeaten 70 off 77 balls with 11 fours and might have gone on to three figures had he not run out of partners.
Earlier in the day Stiaan van Zyl made his eighth first-class century (101 not out off 165 balls with 7 fours) and shared a partnership of 150 with Heino Kuhn (84 off 83 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes) for the sixth wicket to set up South Africa’s second innings total of 312/6 declared.
This set Bangladesh an improbable 458 for victory.
Kuhn reached 5 000 first-class runs in the process before Jacques Rudolph made the declaration as soon as Van Zyl reached three figures.
