Legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, has not celebrated his 38th birthday in the wake of his religious guru, Sai Baba’s death. However, he has received many congratulations and the heartiest birthday wishes from his fans living all over the world.
An artist from the Allahabad area of India, Rajkapoor Chitera, made a 1500-foot long biographical painting for Sachin Tendulkar on his 38th birthday. Chitera said that the painting covered every time period of Sachin's life, from childhood to the recent ICC World Cup 2011 victory. He said that it was his way of paying tribute to India's greatest batsman of all time.
The die-hard fan of the legend stated, “This is world's longest painting on the master-blaster and covers every aspect of his life. From childhood moments, including the ones spent at the field and with parents, to the golden victory at the World Cup 2011, I have tried to incorporate everything.”
Chitera even wanted to display the painting in a unique way, but since Sachin was not celebrating his birthday, he decided against it. However he added that he is anxiously looking forward to present the painting personally to his favourite player.
He said, "Initially I thought I will make a human chain and display the entire painting, but since Sachin Sir has not celebrated his birthday this year due to Sai Baba's death, I dropped that idea,"
The cricket fanatic completed this exceptional master-piece at the Chandra Shekhar Park in 39 hours. Chitera is a renowned painter who has also made numerous sand sculptures of various personalities from the country.
Sachin Tendulkar, who turned 38 on Sunday, performed brilliantly during the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2011 and helped his side win their second-ever World Cup trophy. Sachin batted beautifully throughout the tournament, but would be disappointed with his effort in the final of the tournament against Sri Lanka, where he got out cheaply thanks to Lasith Malinga.
Sachin Tendulkar is one of the finest opening batsmen of the Indian cricket team. He is known for his remarkable and outstanding batting and centuries. He started his One Day International (ODI) career in 1989 against Pakistan. In his glorious 453 One Dayers, he has scored 18111 runs at an average of 45.16. He has so far scored 48 hundreds and 95 half centuries. Tendulkar has brilliantly struck 1981 fours and 193 sixes in his 453 ODIs.
