IPL - Lalit Modi blames BCCI's Srinivasan for favouring Chennai Super Kings

IPL - Lalit Modi blames BCCI's Srinivasan for favouring Chennai Super Kings

The sacked Indian Premier League commissioner, Lalit Modi, has blamed Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI)’s secretary, N Srinivasan, for misusing his authorities to favour his franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Modi said that CSK is such a brilliant team that they can easily win the tournament without any help from their owner, Srinivasan.
"It's a pity Srinivasan is resorting to all that. CSK is a mighty fine team and can win without any such help", Modi wrote on Twitter.
Modi, who was axed from his position due to corruption chargers, further accused the BCCI secretary for choosing specific umpires for Mahendra Singh Dhoni and company. Modi insisted that the BCCI secretary is openly supporting his team in an illegal manner.
Modi tweeted, "Not indirectly, but very directly. Fixing the auction, umpires, and, now pitch. Just give the damn trophy to CSK".
The former commission also expressed his concerned over IPL’s declining TRP (TV Ratings Points) ratings, reaching at the lowest level in the history of Twenty20 league.
The IPL boss added, "Just learnt that the ratings for IPL have reached an average of 3.84, which is the lowest it has ever achieved. Sorry to hear the same".
While responding to the charge sheet filed against him last year, he warned Srinivasan to stop flexing his muscle power in BCCI to twist things in the favour of his team.
The fourth edition of the cash-rich IPL is considered to be completely different from the previous three editions as the new commissioner, Chirayu Amin, is running the business instead of Lalit Modi.
Before the start of tournament, Chirayu claimed a bigger and better event with corruption-free matters. The previous edition of the IPL came under heavy criticism because of match-fixing and corruption scandals, resulting in Modi losing his position.
On the other hand, legendary leg-spinner and captain of Rajasthan Royals’, Shane Warne, who was recently slapped with a hefty fine of $50,000 by the IPL management, said that the current IPL is not much different from the previous one.
