Lahore T20 cricket proves to be a big hit

The first ever T20 Cricket Mella (Fair) in Lahore, Pakistan has proved to be a mega success within just initial two days. The tournament is being played under the aegis of Lahore Cricket Club Association (LCCA).
All local cricket clubs are participating in the event that has day/night matches. The passionate Lahoris showed an encouraging response towards the Mella.
The T20 Cricket Mella was inaugurated by the President of LCCA, Khawaja Nadeem Ahmad here on Thursday, May 19 at Ali Garh Cricket Ground, Lahore. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the entire ace cricket fraternity of Lahore.
The first game of the tournament was played between Raja Cricket Club and Ravi Gymkhana, the former won by 99 runs.
In the 2nd match of the first day, Ali Garh team outplayed Alhilal.
Both the winning teams, Raja and Ali Garh, of the inaugural day piled up huge totals of 207 and 238 respectively.
During the first two days of the tournament, the venue received a large number of spectators. There had been a great rush on ticketing centres and fans rejoiced at an opportunity to watch a T20 event at their home ground after a long interval.
It is said that Pakistan’s most cricket-crazy population lives in Lahore. The natives of Lahore city love everything to do with cricket and spare no opportunity to play and enjoy the game.
There are many cricket clubs in Lahore to recruit young cricketers, who represent Pakistan at the international level. These clubs have a very rich history of producing world class players.
Moreover, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is based in Lahore. In this context, the metropolitan city has more cricket mania.
The LCCA has taken a bold step by organizing a T20 cricket event in Lahore and analysts believe that this tournament will be helpful for cricket across the nation
The T20 format has been a magnificent success story since its inception in 2007. Almost all cricketing nations have inducted it in their domestic cricket set ups.
