Pakistan v West Indies - Second Test - First session- Report

Pakistan v West Indies - Second Test - First session- Report

The second and final Test match of the two-match series between Pakistan and West Indies started  at Warner Park, Basseterre, Saint Kitts.
The hosts won the first Test Match by a margin of 40 runs and now lead the series 1-0. Both teams have made one change in their squad. Pakistan have included fast bowler, Tanvir Ahmad, while West Indies have replaced Devon Smith with 18-year-old opening batsman KC Brathwaite.
Pakistan after winning the toss opted to bat first. They started their innings with Mohammad Hafeez andTaufeeq Umar.
Taufeeq was the first Pakistani batsmen sent back to the pavilion after a poor display of patience and technique. He was caught behind by CS Baugh off the bowling of Ravi Rampaul. The left hander scored only 11 runs facing 23 balls and smashed one boundary.
The next man in was Azhar Ali. He started playing his natural game and showed a lot of patience. After the addition of just five runs in the total, Pakistan lost their second opener Mohammad Hafeez.
Hafeez also looked to be in a great hurry to return to the pavillion. He was caught by LMP Simmons off the bowling of the same bowler, Rampaul. He scored just eight runs off 26 balls and hit a maiden boundary.
Asad Shafiq came in place of Hafeez. He played eight balls but could not open his account. He was caught by Devendra Bishoo off the bowling of Rampaul once again. So Pakistan came under immense pressure after losing three vital wickets for just 24 runs.
In these hard moments, Pakistan Skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq, came into the middle to sail a sinking ship. He spent some time to get his eye in but it took too long.
However, his stay somewhat worked for the team. He and Azhar played sensibly and patiently. They took Pakistan to 46 for the loss of three wickets until the lunch break.
