England v India - I don't want to base myself on someone else says Ben Stokes

England v India - I don't want to base myself on someone else says Ben Stokes- Cricket News Update
The newest recruitment in England’s cricket team, Ben Stokes, has shrugged off the comparison with former all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, and claims that he doesn’t want to be based on someone else.
The 20-year-old cricketer was retained by England for the five-match ODI series against India which will commence from Saturday, September 3. The young cricketer has also been included in the Poms outfit for the one-off Twenty20 to be played at Manchester on Wednesday, August 31.
Stokes, who made his International debut against Ireland, was over the moon after being selected for the team and is hopeful that he’ll make a mark against the Men in Blue.
Expressing his views about the comparison with Flintoff, Strokes said, “I am my own person, I don't want to base myself on someone else. I guess we are the same - we bat and we bowl - but I don't want to base myself on anyone else.”
Stokes, who plays for Durham county club, is primarily known as a batsman who can bowl, but the cricketer vows to improve his game and develop himself as a perfect all-rounder.
The 20-year-old all-rounder’s contribution to the Poms team has been restricted to batting only in the upcoming series, as an injury to a finger of his bowling hand has prevented him from bowling. However, the right-arm medium pacer is determined to make a return to bowling soon.
“I had a bad break in my finger and a dislocation. I had two operations on it and was out for eight or nine weeks. It was pretty frustrating, especially given how well I thought I was playing before I did it. I am not 100% fit to bowl yet but I will keep on getting treatment. Hopefully as time goes by it will get easier,” said Strokes.
The Durham cricketer admitted that pressure of playing in his first international match got to him as he could manage a mere three runs against the Irish. However, the all-rounder is pumped up to make up for that game against the Indian.
