The Maharashtra government has dropped its plans of roping in Sachin
Tendulkar as the state's brand ambassador, Tourism Minister Chhagan
Bhujbal said on Friday.
"The issue has closed now; it is impossible. We (government) also
thought that we shouldn't insist him (Sachin) much. He belongs to the
whole country," he told reporters here.
A few months ago, the Maharashtra Tourism Department Corporation had
sent a letter to Tendulkar asking him to be the brand ambassador of the
state.
However, the 38-year-old cricketer did not respond to the letter, officials said.
