Moin Khan slams PCB for treating senior players disrespectfully

Pakistan’s former captain, Moin Khan, slammed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not giving respect to senior players.

He stated that if the Board does not respect senior players, it cannot expect them to perform to their best for the country.

The Rawalpindi-born keeper stated that the governing body of cricket in Pakistan should groom youngsters in the presence of senior folks, which would strengthen the team’s combination.

The current management of PCB has always been under huge criticism for sideling experienced players.

Recently, they sacked the star-all-rounder, Shahid Afridi from Pakistan’s captaincy, which forced him to claim that PCB has always been treating him with disrespect.

The hard-hitting batsman, Afridi, who led his national side in the semi final of the recently concluded World Cup against India, also announced retirement from International cricket, and refused to play under the present PCB management.

Meanwhile, the legendary batsman, Mohammad Yousuf, took retirement from International cricket, claiming that PCB termed his presence in the squad unhelpful for the young players.

Coming back to Moin’s statement he showed disappointment over the behaviour of PCB regarding experienced players.

The 39-year-old Moin, who has always been right on the money behind the stumps with his performance, admired the attacking all-rounder, Abdul Razzaq.

He also termed him as one the best all-rounders of the world, and asserted that if the Lahore-born, Razzaq is fully fit then he should be included in Pakistan’s team.

Earlier, the hard-hitting batsman Razzaq, who was dropped from the Men in Green’s squad after the ICC World Cup 2011, stated that PCB has always been looking forward to omit senior players from the team.

"I am very disappointed not be considered for the Pakistan team, it hurts. I don't want to take names but there is a lobby that does not want to see senior players in the national team," Razzaq had claimed.

However, earlier, the legendary fast bowler, Wasim Akram, said that the 31-year-old Razzaq has not been performing according to his talent and potential, and quoted that if he would have been playing with proper planning, he could make a lot of name for himself.
