Sachin Tendulkar says winning ICC World Cup 2011 best moment of his career


Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar is still cherishing their ICC World Cup 2011 triumph and has rated it as the best moment of his 21-year long cricketing career.
Tendulkar is considered as one of the best batsmen in the history of cricket and arguably the best of the modern era. He holds almost all the major batting records with an astonishing 99 hundreds in international cricket. However, he feels that winning the World Cup is by far the most special achievement of his life.
The champion batsman expressed that winning the ICC World Cup 2011 was his dream since childhood and he does not have words to explain his feelings. Tendulkar said that he was waiting for this moment for the last 21 years and now when the moment has arrived, he is cherishing every single second of it.
Tendulkar said, “As a young boy I started dreaming of winning the World Cup and to have now won it, I am still speechless. It is by far the best moment of my career. I've been dreaming of this moment for 21 odd years and its worth every minute, it has been really special.”
By appearing in the ICC World Cup 2011, little master levelled former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad’s record of playing six World Cups.
The little master further added that India came close of winning the World Cup twice in the previous six events but failed to cross the line. He feels that it was very disheartening for him but he never stopped trying.
Tendulkar added that it was his dream to win the World Cup for his country which has come true now. He expressed that he never lost hope and kept on trying all the time.
“Its my sixth World Cup and you can well imagine having played one of them where we lost in the semis and one where we lost in the finals it was really heartbreaking but one should never give up, continue to work hard and not lose hope. My biggest dream was this and I continued to chase it and it came true,” Tendulkar added.
