Delhi Daredevils v Pune Warriors – First innings Report

Delhi Daredevils v Pune Warriors – First innings Report

The match between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Pune Warriors (PW) is being played at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, today, May 21, 2011.
Having no affect on the standings, the battle will be to avoid the last place on the points table.
Both teams have made some changes in their squad. For Delhi, Collin Ingram and Matthew Wade come in while Morne Morkel misses out today’s match.
Jesse Ryder and Wayne Parnell are being rested by Pune as James Faulkner and Mitch Marsh come in.
Delhi, after winning the toss, opted to bat first. They started their innings with openers NV Ojha and David Warner.
The duo provided DD with a steady start. They lost their first wicket on 24 runs in the fourth over as Warner walked back to the pavilion after being clean bowled by James Faulkner.
MS Wade was the next man in and put up a trivial partnership of just eight runs with Ojha.
Ojha was caught by R Sharma off the bowling of SS Mundhe, after scoring just eight runs.
Delhi was 32 after the loss of both their openers after 5.5 overs.
Collin Ingram came in as the two down batsman. He played sensibly and responsibly.
He provided full support to his partner Wade as the two made a small but useful partnership of 15 runs. They were getting along well before MR Marsh clean bowled Wade on the last ball of the ninth over.
Wade scored just 11 runs using 20 deliveries and could not hit a single ball for a boundary.
Venugopal Rao was the next batsman after the wicket of Wade. He only played one ball when it started pouring.
Due to the heavy rain, the officials were compelled to abort the match, which ended without any result.
