The Mumbai Indians (MI) coach, Robin Singh, has claimed to be unaware of any injuries to star batsman, Sachin Tendulkar.
He further confirmed that the Master Blaster will be a part of the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to reports in the Indian media, Tendulkar had sustained a shoulder injury and would be heading to Germany for a treatment.
When asked about the media reports, Singh stated, “I really have no clue. I'm only focusing on IPL now. We are focussed on what we want to do. I really don't know what has happened. He (Sachin) is fit for all the games.”
Commenting on the slow nature of pitches, Singh said, “It's a problem for everyone. Even in Chennai the wickets are very slow. No team has got a huge score unless the wicket has been very good. It's a question of adapting. Every team has to face that. The more you go into the tournament. The more you go into the season the wickets are going to get slower.”
The Mumbai team is currently placed at number four in the pool and they have not yet confirmed a berth in the play-offs. The team will be up against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their next game of the lucrative league and will be eying a comfortable win.
However, the presence of MI’s skipper, Tendulkar, will be crucial for the team. The star player has been scoring runs with consistency throughout the tournament and has also led the franchise very nicely.
On the other hand, the game against MI would be the last one for Rajasthan in this year’s IPL. This will be also the last time when Shane Warne will lead his franchise, as the legendary spinner has announced his retirement from the sport.
Warne’s last year in the cash rich tournament hasn’t been an ideal one. He failed to guide his team into the play-offs. He also had some disciplinary issues, due to which he was fined by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
However, the veteran player will be looking forward to end his campaign on a positive note, winning against Mumbai.
