100th Century Cricketing greats in Pakistan pays tribute to Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar’s services to the game of cricket are such that even rivals cannot stop themselves from acknowledging his landmarks. The iconic Indian batsman added another record to his long list of accomplishments, when he became the first cricketer ever to score 100 international centuries.

Cricketing greats in Pakistan have paid their tribute to the Little Master for doing the impossible.

Javed Miandad, former captain of Pakistan, congratulated Sachin for scoring the ton of tons, in a match against Bangladesh at Mirpur.

The former cricketer, who was part of the Pakistani roster against whom Sachin made his international debut, said that the Little Master always had a spark in him from the very first day and was glad to see that he had made great use of his talent.

Miandad said, “When he played against us in 1989 he showed glimpses of what was in store for world cricket and the kind of sincerity he has shown with the game has only made him immortal and prolonged his career to 23 years and he can still go on.”

Miandad also termed Sachin as a perfect role model for youngsters. He urged all the young cricketers to follow in his footsteps.

The lynch-pin of Pakistan’s 1992 world cup team believes that the records set by Sachin will last forever and the current set of players, and those to follow, can only dream of matching what he has accomplished.

Moin Khan, the former wicket-keeper batsman, shared the same views as Miandad. Adding to the chorale lavishing place on the great Indian, Khan said, “He has achieved something which will be tough to match. He has been a trend-setter and if players try to emulate him we will get more and more great players, but his records will be tough to erase.”

Khan also admired the way Sachin has lived his life, free from controversies. Sachin’s success lies in the fact that he loves the game and his thirst for runs never quenches, believes the wicket-keeper batsman.

Abdul Qadir, the former leg-spinner, tagged Sachin as Kohi-noor (a famous diamond) of cricket. The spin wizard said that it’s not the Little Masters records that make him extraordinary rather it is his character that makes him the greatest cricketer ever.
