Cricket Ireland loses gadgets containing crucial data

Cricket Ireland loses gadgets containing crucial data – Cricket News Update
The Cricket Ireland (CI) is in chaos after losing three laptops and two hard drives during Ireland’s 50-over match against Namibia, on July 5, 2011, at the Civil Service club, Stormont.
The Irish cricket bosses are hell-bent to find the devices as they contain important and sensitive data regarding coach and the players; however, there seem to be no chances of recovery yet.
The lost gadgets were packed in a bag that was placed in the pavilion of the team. When the board staff started packing up the accessories, they found the bag to be missing. Search efforts in the surroundings went in vain.
There has been no sign of the equipment even after nine days. Both the Irish police and the board are investigating into the matter and searching for the data devices.
Cricket Ireland has announced to grant a shirt signed by the World Cup squad to the person who brings any type of information regarding the lost articles. In an effort to get the prestigious shirt, many cricket lovers of the country have started search for the laptops and discs.
Talking to the media today, the Irish assistant coach, Pete Johnston, said, “The external hard drives contain footage of our matches, with game plans for the opposition and tactics which we employ as well as our own key performance indicators.”
He further told, “I had everything with me as I was preparing for our ongoing tri-series with Sri Lanka and Scotland. The footage contained on these hard drives is crucial to our success and preparation for games. It's an accumulation of work over the past four years, and is irreplaceable. I'm appealing to anyone that finds these or is offered them for sale to get in touch with Cricket Ireland immediately."
A similar incident happened some weeks back in Sri Lanka where a hard drive containing the team’s crucial records about the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 was stolen from the archive of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). As a result of the bereavement, the board had to face certain allegations of corruption and mismanagement.
